TRANSFER CASE REBUILD KITS |
|
The Dana 20 transfer case has a 2.46:1 low gear ratio. In
early 1973, Ford switch to a 2.34:1 low gear ratio. These transfer cases used
two different shifter designs known as either the "J" pattern or "T" handle.
The "T" handle was used from 1966 to 1972, and the "J" pattern from 1973 to
1977.

We have two New stock type shifters T-shifter (66-72) w/Boot
and J-shift (73-77) w/Boot.
Just unbolt your old shifter and install our new one. It mounts in the same
place as original. Oilite bushings give smooth trouble-free shifting. Comes
with boot and mounting hardware.

D20 TWIN STICK SHIFTER CONVERSION |
|
Dana 20 Twin Stick Shifters We get calls all the time about
the Dana 20 being "hard to shift". After shifting hundreds of these T cases
ourselves we would say it can take some finesse to shift the Dana 20. You can
make it easier with the installation of a twin stick shifter. The twin sticks
allow for shifting one rail at a time (front or rear) whereas the original
shifters have both rails connected together, making it harder to shift. The
twin sticks come with WH shifter knobs and mounting hardware.
The original twin stick for
the J-shift transfer cases! Slight modification to shift rail and tunnel cover
hole is necessary.

The Gear Gawker clear cover for the D20, this is a great way
to keep an eye on your D20 not just the fluid level but if you look close you
can see if their are any metallic partials in the oil indicating a problem
without taking the cover off, This is an easy way to check your D20 before you
go to an event. But are they strong? These are made of 1/2 inch thick
polycarbonate glass made for the view slits of armored vehicles. These covers will take a serious
beating and hold up to temps over 600* without failing.

This little part bolts on to the cross member and bumps up
against the Dana 20. Made from polyurethane it is a little wider than stock
in some cases you may need to re-drill the mounting hole to a 3/8.

prevents you from loosing a u-joint cup when you go to install a drive shaft
at home It comes in really handy on your spare drive shaft, it really sucks
when you go and get your spare drive shaft and a u-joint cap is missing or
it is laying there but missing some of the bearings. This is the best
tool for the money, it will save you so much aggravation and TIME.

When you put in a new drive shaft it is a good idea to use new
hardware, The upper bolts we carry are 12 point witch has a smaller head
allowing you to use a 5/16 gear wrench. The lower u-bolt kit are the correct
ones for the stock 1310 type u-joint.

TEC TIP: The most common
reason for u-joint failure is due to over tightening the u-bolts, use a short
wrench to avoid over tighten the nuts.
