ANATOMY OF THE ADJUSTABLE RADIUS ARM |
| |
|

Why are these arms so different?
Their are 5 major differences between our new arms and stock
and about that many differences between our arms and others available in the
aftermarket.
Our new stock length radius arms allow you to bolt in a new
radius arm without cutting or modifying your frame.
These new radius arms are a completely new unit we do not
modify old used stock arms or reuse the front cap.
You can replace any and all parts of our new arms in the
event of failure or if you want to customize
You can adjust the caster from 0* to 15* without all of the
work of replacing C bushings.
We added in a place to add an extra shock or limit strap
behind the axle out of the way of the steering linkage.

#1 The radius arm head and cap are cast out of Chromoly, much
stronger than stock.
#2 This new arm is a unique design, the Chromoly head is cast so that you
can adjust the caster up to 15* without changing C bushings.
#3 The main part of the arm is made of 2" X 2" X 1/4" wall
square tubing with a milled notch for the rod end. You can order this part
stock or 11" longer but you can customize it from there, if you want it only
5" longer, just cut the end nearest the head and drill 2 new holes.
#4 The ability to mount two shocks on the back side of the head
or one shock and a limit strap.
#5 This rod end JM16-1T is HUGE featuring a
Teflon liner a 1" shank and a static radial load of 43,555 Lbs this thing is
so massive it weights 4 Lbs.
#6 These Chromoly radius arm bushings allow you to retain
your stock bracket and run a rod end when using our stock length radius arms
If you are going to use our extended arm you will have to cut the stock
bracket off of the frame and weld on the new bracket that comes with the
long arm kit.

STOCK LENGTH CASTER ADJUSTABLE RADIUS ARMS |
| |
|

AS SEEN ON EXTREME 4X4! These new arms are our stock
length standard arms. The adjustable caster radius arm head and cap are made
of Chromoly and are stronger than the stock radius arms. The arms are modular
so parts can be changed out. They can be adjusted to 15 degrees of caster. The
side plates (1/4" thick) hold the adjustable head to the 2"x2"x5/16" arms and
are used to mount 1 or 2 shocks. The rear of the arm is slotted for the 1"
heim joint. The shoulder nuts allow the heim to mount to the stock radius arm
mounts. The Heim joint (rod end) is top of the line stuff. This Teflon lined
rod end has a 1" shank and 14 threads per inch, a 1" hole in the center and a
ULT. static radial load of 43,555 lbs. This thing is so beefy is weights over
2 lbs! All bolts are grade 8. The listed price is for 2 complete radius arms
with caps. (For Heim info on FK161JMT go to www.fkrodends.com/precision/jmjm1.html)

WRISTED AXLE HOUSING (WAH) |
| |
|
The Wrested Axle Housing is the latest innovation from BC Broncos to get the most extreme articulation possible out of your Early Bronco. Maximizing articulation allows your Bronco to crawl over difficult obstacles while keeping all four tires in contact with the ground. The result is better traction for both forward movement and braking, a more stable ride through uneven terrain, and increased driver confidence with fewer "tippy" situations.
The WAH works by relieving the natural sway bar effect that is inherent in the radius arm suspension design. The WAH leaves both radius arms in control of braking and acceleration torque, resulting in better on-road manners than either a wrested arm or lengthened radius arms. Off-road, the WAH completely frees C-bushing bind and allows each end of the axle housing to articulate according to the terrain under that tire, virtually unaffected by the other.
The components of the WAH are CNC machined to stringent tolerances. Each
kit includes a hub, rotor, cap, thrust washers, sleeve, grease fittings and
hardware. You may install it yourself or send your clean, bare Dana 44
housing to BC Broncos to have the WAH installed here. Basic fabrication
skills including careful measuring, cutting and welding are required, but no
precision machining is needed.
At this time the WAH is only available for the stock Early Bronco Dana 44 and
the 1978-1979 F-150 "high pinion" D-44.

The 78-79 housing is a little
different as you can see at a glance The ball joint C and the radius arm
wedges are cast as one piece then slipped over the tube and then welded. |
On
the 71-77 EB and 72-77 F150 housings the ball joint C and radius wedges
are separate pieces. On the F150 housing the tube is 1/2" thick and
can't be used with a WAH |

B C FRONT COIL SPRINGS |
| |
|
 |
Our coil springs are made to our
precision engineered specifications by a well-respected coil spring
manufacturer right here in America. The B.C. Broncos front coil spring has
gained a favorable reputation within the Early Bronco community for
providing soft, stable on-road handling, with maximum articulation/
travel for off-road performance while Maintaining the spring height that you
ordered. B.C. Broncos front coil springs come in
various lift heights, and with spring rates maximized for use either with or
without a winch. Our springs are a linear rate spring this means they have
the same spring rate through out the entire length of the coil, what this
means to you is that when you put the coils on your Bronco you will have a
nice ride on the road and lots of flex on the trail, yet you will have the
same height for many years to come without having to worry about settling. |

are broken cracked and bent this can make the coil spring appear bent or even
make one side of the Bronco set lower. With these all new parts you can
